Chief Experience Officer

Shelby Edwards serves as Chief Experience Officer of Eclipse Scheduling, overseeing the company’s overall customer satisfaction. Also the CEO of a LSP, Shelby ensures coordinators’ needs and feedback are the forefront of the Eclipse experience.

Background

Shelby Edwards was born and raised in Jonesborough, Tennessee. From an early age, she had a passion for the theater and loved participating in bilingual plays at her local community theater. Shelby attended Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee where she pursued a Bachelor of the Arts in American Sign Language – English Interpreting and Deaf Studies.

Shortly after graduating in 2013, Shelby relocated to New York, NY where she started her career as a freelance sign language interpreter. During the course of her freelance career, Shelby saw firsthand that a one-size-fits-all approach to accessibility services did not properly address neither the needs of the communities she served.

Determined to improve inclusion and equal-access in New York, in 2016 Shelby partnered with Tyler Herron to found Inclusive Communication Services, Inc. the first mission-focused, community-based interpreting agency and then later Eclipse Scheduling which would allow companies small and large to prioritize inclusion.

Although Shelby stays busy as the CXO of Eclipse Scheduling and CEO of ICS, she continues to support local theaters and travels as often as possible.

Philosophy

Availability

Shelby is available Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (EST) and Saturdays 8:00 AM-12:00 PM (EST).

Hobbies & Interests

Although “always working” and constantly looking for ways to make our local communities more accessible, Shelby can often be found multitasking from a taxi, plane, or even a boat! She loves to travel and is always looking for her next adventure. When at home in NYC, Shelby enjoys the dynamic theater scene Manhattan has to offer. Shelby is also a passionate coffee drinker and is often seen roaming the streets with Starbucks or her famous pink thermos in hand.
